Which motors will use neodymium magnets?

Along with time's development, neodymium NdFeB magnets have been widely used in motors industry, especially in some micromotors industry. Rare earth permanent magnetic materials have excellent magnetic properties, so without adding any extra power, magnets can build strong permanent magnetic fields after magnetizing. By using rare earth PM motors which are made of the electric fields, to replace the traditional motors, these motors not only have high efficiency, simple structure, and reliable operation, but also small volume and light weight.

So which motors will use neodymium iron boron magnets?
Rare earth permanent magnet motors have a very wide range of application, almost throughout many kinds of fields such as aerospace and national defense equipment manufacturing industrial and agricultural production and daily life.
Neodymium magnet is permanent magnetic material,and also an indispensable part of PM motors. Rare earth permanent magnet motor industry is the largest application field of neodymium magnets, which contains about 70% of the total magnets. At present the common permanent magnet motors include: permanent magnet DC motors and permanent magnet AC motors. Permanent magnet DC motors have brush DC motors, brushless DC motors, stepping motors, etc. Permanent magnet AC motors have synchronal perpetuation magnetism motors, permanent-magnet svero motor and so on.

In 1990, Shanghai miniature electrical machinery factory developed and completed ZYN40 neodymium permanent magnet DC motors. The grade of the arc magnets is N30 neodymium magnet(Br: 1.12~1. 18t, Hcb: 637~756ka/m,mhc: 635~836ka/m,(bh)max: 231~255kj/m³). The motors are used to replace m series of AlNiCo and zyt series of Ferrite permanent magnet DC motors, and obtained better economic benefits。At the same power, compare neodymium motors with alnico motors, and reduce the size of a stand, the weight and volume of neodymium magnet motors are respectively 70% and 68% of alnico magnet motors. Compare with ferrite magnet motors,reduce the size of two stands,the weight and volume of neodymium magnet motors are respectively 40% and 36% of ferrite magnet motors. Compare with SZ excited synchronous motors, and reduce the size of two stands, the weight and volume of neodymium magnet motors are 40% of SZ excited synchronous motors. Meanwhile, the performances of neodymium magnet motors significantly improve. At a same stand, the output power and torque of the neodymium magnet motors are 78.6% higher than that of the alnico magnet motors, and the efficiency increases from 54% to 62%.

Shanghai Institute of Electrical Automation has successfully developed neodymium permanent magnet and its application in permanent magnet DC tachometer generator, the total costs of each motor has reduced about 30% than using alnico magnets. And the volume of motors is smaller, the weight is lighter.

Shenyang University of Technology successfully developed 3kw neodymium permanent magnet synchronous motors (have same power and same stand as y series of motors), These motors have higher efficiency and power factor than asynchronous motors, and the curves of them are relatively flat,so that they can save energy no matter in light load or full load. The efficiency of the motors is 86.23%,the power factor is 0.93, the rated current is 5.67a, the blocking current multiple is 4.61, the blocking torque multiple is 1.94, the temperature rise (resistance method) is 45.1, and the noise is 65db.
